So... I've been meaning to write this post for several days now, but now it almost seems wrong somehow. (Tonight)
Anyway, Bill has been the benefactor of some free tickets and trips to some Bama games over the years we've lived here. His best friend here is a true blue (or should I say Crimson) Tide fan! As a result, we have pretty much as a family become Bama fans!

Bill has enjoyed watching football this past season on his flatscreen t.v. (his Christmas present in 2007). He has enjoyed that Hannah has become interested in sports a bit this past year. The older, girls due to thier marching band experiences, enjoy going to a footbal game (or going to see the bands play and march). Bill has taken Amanda and Rebekah to several games. Last week he took them and Hannah to a bowl game.
He announced while we were cleaning etc. this mornign that I could do anything I wanted this evening, because he was going to be watching The Bowl Game between Bama and Utah. Well, I have to say, I am sooooo NOT into sports. I can have fun when I am AT a ball game and it is live and all the excitement of the moment, however watching from home doesn't do a whole lot for me usually. I don't have a specific team that I need to root for. I am more of a IF a team plays against certain teams I guess I go for one that is more close to home, or the one my husband grew up loving, or the team that plays against a team I don't like... but today I sort of have to admit, that just because it was Utah, (not that I'm even from Utah - other than I attended BYU - which ought to make me go for whoever is against Utah...), I almost wanted them to win, and was not so sad when they took the early lead. I felt torn, as my husband ranted about bad calls, and brought out the 'changed line up' card... I wanted to be rooting for Bama, but found myself on the fence. Now that Bama lost the game I feel bad. As though somehow, my secret encouragement, inside, gave them the edge...
Anyway, Liam has watched the football stuff this year (and before the season started, by watching dad - and playing wii with him). His siblings have taught him a few fun tricks. The one that is important today is that he sees football and it is no longer called Football... He says, "Roll Tide Roll!" It is very cute! He was excited to watch "Roll Tide Roll" with daddy! Even though he's been saying 'Roll Tide Roll' all weekend for any football game he sees even a comercial for.

The first year we were in this house, Bill commented that he didn't have a room of his own in the house! He joked that he only had perhaps the small toilet closet part of the bathroom. For his birthday that year I bought several ball posters, football and basketball, and put them up in the bathroom on the walls. I gave him several 'old fashioned' sports handheld battery operated games in a basket. I put several balls/ a nerf football, and a special camden yards baseball I'd bought him previously, on a shelf, and some other sports themed paraphenalia. I put a huge ribbon on the bathroom door like it was a wrapped gift, and that was his birthday present! His own space. One day last week sometime, Liam came to visit me while I was in the bathroom (one day I'll be able to go to the bathroom all by myself again...I hope), and it was like he'd never been in there before. He looked up on the wall, and got all excited, chanting "Roll Tide Roll" over and over!
So, that was what I originally wanted to post about, last week or so, but tonight just pushed me to do it. (It has taken me so long though, with various interruptions and such throughout the night, that now the game is long over, and the Tide lost...)... so now I almost feel bad posting this. So if it makes you sad, mad or any other emotion other than thinking, Aaaaaahhhhh... how cute. I appologize. Sorry!
