Marissa had a school project to do a book report, adn then deocrate a pumpkin to go along with her chasracter from ehr book report. She decided to do the Three Little Pigs.
I loved the idea!
Sariah decorated a pumpkin at YW last week. She and her friend 'H' painted it to be a Purple Hippo. I think it is cute.
Then, we had our Ward harvest party last week as well. We had a Chili Cook Off, and a Pie contest, and a Scare Crow building contest. I was running around like crazy, and at the last minute before we left for the party, Hannah helped me pull the items together. I think it turned out quite cute.
We only did one completely new and original Costume this year for halloween. (Well, Sariah made up her own as well). The kids seem to change costumes with each activity we go to.
Hannah started the season out with a trip to Atlanta to Six Flags with friends for a special birthday trip for her friend. Hannah had me break out the Halloween boxes, adn decided taht the Mulan costume we had from Rebekah years ago would work and be comfortable and easy enough to wear at an amusement park.
Then, Hannah saw a costume in my magazine, and she asked if we could do it. It was an adorable idea, and with the kids help, it turned out amazing!
She won Best costume at the neighbors
Halloween party last week. Tonight she wore it trick or treating, adn people would give her extra candy since they thought she looked so great! Hannah also said a lot of people would make her stay at the door while they called someone else (their spouse or friends or someone else in the house) to come and see it!
Hannah didn't want to fight with her costume all day at school, so she borrowed an M&M from our neighbor Bob.

Marissa started out being Pebbles from the Flintstones, for the neighbors party. We even went to the effort to buy a turkey leg, boil it, soak it in bleach water, and then baked it long adn low in the oven to dry it out. We put that in her hair. I thought it was cute. Only ONE (1) person at the party knew who she was! People asked if she was a cheetah girl, or a cheetah. WHATEVER!!!!! Didn't these people ever watch the Flintstones!?!?!?!
She changed her plans and decided to be a Bee for Trunk or Treat at church last night and for the day at school today and for tonight at the party at her Karate School. We took an old costume we had from years ago, added some extra black stripes to it a 'stinger' and she wore a little set antenae from an old Lightening bug costume, and she was a cute little BEE...
Liam was Blue, from Blue's Clue's.
It was originally Sariah's years ago. We knew that with all the craziness of tonight - Oct. 31st, so we crashed 2nd ward and attended theri Trunk-or-Treat last night. Mostly so Liam could participate in Halloween a little bit. He was all dressed up and looking cute with Mailbox and everything!
He fell asleep in the van on the way there - before we were
off of our own street! We got to the Church, we got Liam out of the carseat, put him in a stroller, and he slept for the entire thing!!! But he looked very cute! He woke up after everyone was cleaning up, but just in time for Hannah to Wheel him up to the witchy woman (the Bishop's Wife). She does this whole thing up, and is this crazy wild witch woman, with bottles of potions, and bones and brains, and a boiling (dry ice) brew she stirs round and round. I was surprised Liam didn't scream and cry!!! What a Bad Dream! He was at home and just got in his car seat, and the next thing HE knew he was staring at some wild crazy witch!!! ;-) Poor thing.
Tonight we had the BJHS football game to attend. It was the last game of the season, and I hadn't seen Amanda in the marching band yet. I only made it to one other game, and it was homecoming, and only the other team performed. Our side only introduced the homecoming court...
Anyway, so I knew it would be cold and so I could dress him up and still have him be cute, but I didn't want to deal with Blue's big stuffed head, and I still had this cute little black cat costume a good friend made years ago, and passed along to us. Thanks C!!! I put black sweats underneath it and it was like he was wearing a little cat sweatsuit or snow suit type thing. He looked so cute and was nice and cozy warm. He did get bored however and began giong up and down the bleacher stairs! We were the 2nd row from the top! yikes! We ended up leaving early (just before the end of the 3rd quarter) - the score was 50 something to 0! The final score was BJHS 56 to the opponent 0. It seemed to be a small school. They barely had enough team players to have a full offense and defensive team. The band was less than aabt. 20 people. 2 dance team members, 4 flag people, 2 batton twirlers, and 2 drum majors. They sure tried hard.
Amanda dressed up as a 'Queen Bee'
for her friend's Halloween party last Friday. I thought it was cute. Then for the Youth - Tri-Ward Party the other night she wanted to do sometihng different. She and her friend Meg dressed as Each Other. Amanda loaned one of her Panda Bear t-shirts to Meg along with an old pair of glasses (she popped out the lenses for Meg to wear). Meg brought one of her soccer jersey's with her name across the back. She curled her hair like Meg sometimes does.
Last night for the Trunk-or-Treat, she pulled out the Clown suit. She looked quite cute. She pushed a sleeping Liam around a little bit to get them both some candy.
Sariah and her friends
originally wanted to be cow girls, but reazlized purchasing cowgirl boots... for all 4 of them, was really NOT practical! Then they talked about being Gangstah's... I was glad when that decision went by the way side. They finally decided on Super Hero's. One friend was Super Girl, one was Bat girl, and Sariah and the other friend were their own made up one's. They all wore tights or leggings, with shorts and double t-shirts, layered. With a cape, and a shield. I thought they turned out cute. Sairiah and her friends weren't finished getting ready, when we had to leave, so I didn't get a good picture of them yet.
We also drove all over and seh treid on a ton of different pairs of boots - partly because she has wanted boots for a long time, but especially now so she had boots for her cotume. We finally bought some Tuesday night.
